As I have previously mentioned, I have been working on a piece of detailed hand embroidery, so here is an update of how it’s coming along!

Second time of writing this blog post, not sure where the original has ended up!?
So, earlier in the week I created a Colour board to display which colours I want to carry through into my designs.
From minor project I already had a brief idea of what kind of colours I wanted to use. So, to keep it fresh I done some new research to find some inspiring imagry. I looked at photography books based on florals and landscapes along with microbiology in the underwater world to get some real innovative pictures as none of these books are related to my concept. As you can see below, this was a successful choice as my colour board is inspiring and insightful and I have picked out the key colours for clarity.

Sooo this week I have been translating one of my paintings into stitch; an almost mark making piece of work inspired by machine embroidery threads, seems a bit odd but when it’s finished I will upload both pieces of work together!
